Valerie Red-Horse Mohl named to new Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity
October 4, 2022 (New York, NY) — U.S. Secretary of the Treasury announced the inaugural members of the Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity. The first-of-its-kind committee will provide advice on efforts to advance racial equity in the economy and address acute disparities for communities of color.
“I’m delighted to be a part of the exciting work of this new group,” said Valerie Red-Horse Mohl, Co-Founder and Partner with Known Holdings, a new BIPOC-owned finance company that manages money and assets for people who see the opportunity in increasing wealth and ownership for the New Majority. “Including our voices at the highest level of policy is an important step, and I look forward to a world where Black, Indigenous and people of color have full ownership of their future.”
Red-Horse Mohl launched the first Native American owned full-service investment bank on Wall Street in 1997 and since then has served as a financial advisor, asset manager and banker to over 50 tribal nations with a focus on access to optimal capital and equitable terms. She is the CFO of East Bay Community Foundation; served as the CEO and Executive Director (2018-2020) for Social Venture Circle (SVC); and on the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance Advisory Board.
